5 Destinations To Travel This Summer

Summer marks the middle of the year and is considered to be the best time to planning a getaway with your loved ones. Wherever you decide to go, hurry up to book your flights and hotel rooms because prices are now increasing significantly for the summer season. Especially if you are traveling with a group of friends or children, we do not recommend waiting for the last minute since you may end up finding nothing interesting.

Based on our previous travels, we have consolidated this brief recap of 5 destinations to travel this summer. Read on to find out our tips to make the most of your visit to those countries.

Greece

Ekklisia Panagia Agion Panton – Oia (Santorini)

There are a ton of reasons to visit Greece such as exploring world-famous archaeological sites, enjoying a honeymoon, walking on sunshine, admiring the breathtaking landscape, and much more. Before traveling, identify the main purpose of your trip to make sure to do the most while you are there.

Greece offers several options for adventure and enjoyment. As true lovers of food, wine, and azure blue water, we have been to the two major islands of the Cyclades region: Mykonos and Santorini (Thira). Find out more about our trip to Greece here.

Israel
Haifa – Baha’i Gardens

With its unique historical and cultural background, Israel gives you more than just sun and fun. We deeply fall in love with this country that is easy to visit and rich with its diversified population. We met warm and welcoming people around the country and had an incredible journey.

Within 10 days, we were able to visit a couple of city by using bus and train transportation including Haifa, Acre, Nazareth, Jerusalem, Tiberias, and Ein Gedi to name a few. Surprisingly, hotel offers were so limited that we decided to book an apartment on Airbnb, which was the best way to embrace the local daily lifestyle. Portugal

When we went to Lisbon for the first time 4 years ago, we totally fell in love with Portugal and made the promise to visit other parts in this country down the line. If like us, you already visited Lisbon, we highly recommend adding Algarve on your summer travel list.

Located in the southernmost region of continental Portugal, Algarve is very famous for its impressive cliffs and its marvelous beaches such as Praia da Marinha Praia which has been ranked one of the best beaches in Europe. Thanks to its breathtaking landscape, Algarve is the most popular tourist destination in Portugal. How to prepare for this trip? Check out our tips here.

Italy
Grand Canal Venice, boat, water and blue sky
Grand Canal – Venice

You have maybe already plan to visit Cinque Terre this summer but why not extend your stay in Italy for 1 or 2 days to visit Venice? This charming city is very famous for its numerous canals, bridges, gondolas, and urban legends of many of its inhabitants such as Giacomo Casanova.

One thing we really loved about Venice is that it is car-free. Walking is an option to consider to get from one point to another otherwise taxi boats and gondolas are also very useful. For an authentic immersion in this mysterious and magical city, climb aboard a gondola! A private tour is around 80 euros (115 CAD $) for 2 people but we figure out that some companies offer group discounts. Find out more about Venice here.

Lebanon

Lebanon – City of Anjar

What about visiting Beirut this summer? The city has a welcoming atmosphere, diverse food scene, and world-class nightlife. What makes Beirut even more interesting is its location. Less than two hours from the main Lebanese historical sites, Beirut offers a wide range of possibilities.

To make the most of our time, we bought a 1-day guided tour on Viator including the cities of Baalbek, Anjaar, and Ksara. The next day, we spent our time visiting Beirut. Read on our experience here to help you plan your own itinerary to visit this vibrant city.

Beirut – Pigeons Rock

We hope that our experience will help you to enjoy your summer vacations to the fullest. If you like this post, feel free to comment or share on social media. You can follow this blog on FacebookInstagram, and subscribe to our newsletter on the main page for monthly updates 🙂
