2 Ways To Use The DermaBrilliance System

DermaBrilliance Starter Kit

The DermaBrilliance Sonic Exfoliation System is designed to clean, exfoliate, and massage your skin. Gentle enough to be use on a daily basis, the DermaBrilliance Sonic Exfoliation System helps to smooth the skin and to reveal your natural glow. Moreover, the DermaBrilliance wand has two setting sides where you can use the three interchangeable heads. The High side located on the same side as the On/Off button is recommended to be used for exfoliation. The Low side can be used on sensitive skin or delicate areas such as eye and neck, and is recommended for cleansing. The DermaBrilliance Sonic Exfoliation System has also an automatic timer to make sure to not exceed the recommended time for each step.

Suitable for all skin types, the device combines around 5,000 sonic oscillations which polish away debris and bring new fresh skin to the surface. DermaBrilliance – Brush Head

1. Cleansing

In cleansing mode, attach the Cleansing Brush head to the DermaBrilliance Sonic Exfoliation System wand on either the low or high setting of the wand. Splash your face with warm water and follow those steps:

  1. Apply a small amount of Apple Stem Cell Cleanser or the facial cleanser of your choice to the Cleansing Brush head.
  2. Turn the wand on and begin brushing the cleanser on your face by doing upward circular strokes with moderate pressure to avoid to deform the brush head.
  3. After having thoroughly cleaned each area of your face and neck, turn the wand off.
  4. Rinse your face with warm water and blot dry.
  5. Thoroughly rinse the Cleansing Brush head and wand under warm water. Make sure to blot dry the wand and brush head then store them where they can air dry.

DermaBrilliance – Jewel Resurfacing Cream

2. Exfoliating

In exfoliating mode, attach the Exfoliating Foam head to the DermaBrilliance wand on either the low or high setting of the wand. Splash your face with warm water and follow those steps:

  1. Apply a quarter size amount of Jewel Resurfacing Cream to the Exfoliation Foam head. Prior to turning the wand on, use the Exfoliation Foam head or your finger to dot the cream on to your forehead, nose, cheek and chin.
  2. Turn the wand on and work the cream into your skin using circular strokes with moderate pressure.
  3. After having treated all areas of your face and neck, turn the wand off.
  4. Rinse your face with warm water and blot dry.
  5. Thoroughly rinse the Exfoliating Foam head and wand under warm water. Make sure to blot dry the wand and foam head then store them where they can air dry.

La Pileuse by Sarah Elola

La Pileuse is Sarah Elola’s second solo piece presented at MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) for 3 days only on November 24, 25 and 26. It draws upon the traditions of Burkina Faso and more specifically those of Oulo and Boromissi villages where the dancer and choreographer spent her childhood. La Pileuse dives deep into the origins of rhythm and dance. This art of entering in communion with the elements instead of resisting them, of neither enduring nor dominating them; this art of renewal that can transcend the laborious. La Pileuse takes stock of all this and represents a mine of movements, sounds and philosophical reflections in what is ultimately an intimate encounter with the African woman.

In Africa, dance is an extension of life and daily activities – a mode of expressing thoughts and feelings through a liberation of the body and an abandonment to rhythm. There are many times when music and dance are born of repeated gestures, whether those of the farmer, the canoeist, or of the women who gather together around a single mortar to grind millet, sorghum or corn. They work together like this for long hours, now striking the pestles against the mortars, now throwing them up into the air and clapping their hands before catching them again, grinding the grain, each one performing more and more elaborate feats, punctuating their movements with shouts, sounds, words or melodies. All of this comes together in a single rhythm to produce a sometimes complex symphony.

Here is an art of resilience and renewal so fruitful it gives rise to a whole repertory of rhythms, songs and dances specific to each village. A plethora of movements, sounds and philosophical reflections emerges from which choreographer Sarah Elola draws upon to produce her second solo piece: La Pileuse.

A protean performer originally from Burkina Faso, Sarah Elola coloured her first 15 years with a kaleidoscopic African life both rural and urban, traditional and contemporary. Sarah Elola grew up both in Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire and studied drama, choral singing, and dance in many forms. She has danced in particular for Zab Maboungou/Compagnie Nyata Nyata. Her process borrows traditions from several African countries while also becoming a distinctly contemporary
style of dance.

Elola created her first solo, Dans le ventre de l’éléphant, for the 2016 edition of Eclectik at the MAI. She also presented this piece in Montreal at the Forum Social Mondial and as well as at the Festival International de Danse de Ouagadougou (FIDO) presented by the French Institute in Burkina Faso.

Winner of the joint mentorship program in dance CAM + MAI in 2016 for the creation of La Pileuse, Sarah Elola carried out exploratory fieldwork on the ground in Oulo (Burkina Faso) this past spring for her new work.

Borned in Longueuil, Édéenne is now well established in Paris as a renowned jeweler. Édéenne build her name thanks to her unique talent and ability to immerse herself in her client’s personality to create breathtaking pieces of fine jewelry based on their values and experiences.

For the first time in Canada, more than 150 pieces of fine jewelry of Édéenne collections will be on display at the Wilder Building at the Grands Ballets Canadiens until November 16th. Édéenne exhibit is grandly supported by its clients since half of the fine jewelry pieces have been generously lent by their owners.

Cordially invited at the exhibit opening night on November 1st, we had the opportunity to immerse ourself in this deeply moving environment while discovering each piece’s personal story. The exhibit is organized as a guided tour where you are plunged into darkness and accompanied by a storyteller.

Édéenne is the only Canadian to make fine jewelry in Paris. She has been recognized by the former jewelry director of Christies in Geneva as one of the 4 women who have marked history since 1900, and this, in a universe essentially masculine. Vivienne Becker published in the Financial Times: “Édéenne is one of the 4 gems stars“.

To bring a touch of originality, Édéenne choose to partner with the Bank of Montreal to present the exhibit inside a vault. “I believe in the power of jewelry to witness the depth of the beings and I can not wait to finally reveal my works to the public of my motherland, which, I hope, will be inspired and touched” said Édéenne.

Equipped with a flashlight and accompanied by a storyteller, visitors will discover the underlying story of each piece and live a unique immersive experience far beyond the presentation of the object itself.

The Grilled Cheese month is back at L’Gros Luxe Restaurant until November 30th! It’s not the first edition and it won’t be the last one, the chefs have worked very hard to come up with 28 new recipes to delight your taste buds. We had the pleasure to taste few grilled cheese during the media launch party last week at L’Gros Luxe Sud-Ouest located on Notre-Dame West.

For 4 weeks, you are invited to visit one of the seven L’Gros Luxe restaurants and try the grilled cheese of the week. Each grilled cheese presented on the menu will be available for one week only so don’t miss your chance to grab the one that you melt for!

During the media launch party, we talked with Alex Bastide, owner of all L’Gros Luxe restaurants, who is very concerned to offer custom-made meals that meet the need of its clients. All L’Gros Luxe restaurants have a vegetarian friendly menu and a fun list of cocktails served in a festive ambiance with a refined touch specific to each neighbourhood’s personality.

If you don’t eat cheese, visit L’Gros Luxe 100% Végé which will offer vegan options for the four grilled cheese featured throughout the month of November.

  • Week 1: Grilled cheese with fried Havarti cheese, tomato and basil (10$).
  • Week 2: Grilled cheese with Emmental, walnuts, green apples with curry (10$).
  • Week 3: Grilled cheese with Jackfruit “pulled pork” and coleslaw (12$).
  • Week 4: Grilled cheese with oyster mushrooms sautéed in butter, Parmesan, mustard of Meaux (10$).

L’Gros Luxe Restaurant – Media Launch Party

Wondering if Jackfruit “pulled pork” tastes good? First of all, don’t be fooled by the name! This is not meat but an excellent imitation of the taste and you will be very amazed once you will try it. This ingredient has been used for years all around the world by vegan chefs and recently became extremely trendy. Pulled jackfruit is made from the younger fruit named green jackfruit. Compared to other processed meat substitutes such as seitan or soy-based tofu, jackfruit is all-natural and does not required to be processed to be used in the kitchen. In other words, the grilled cheese with Jackfruit “pulled pork” is a must-try!

Moreover, November will be a very busy month in all L’Gros Luxe restaurants! In fact, in addition to the grilled cheese month, new vegan meals will be added on the menu. As a vegetarian, Alex Bastide really wants to achieve the goal of making L’Gros Luxe a place where everyone could enjoy food regardless of the type of diet you follow. This annual event brings together more than 200 wine producers, distillers, and brewers to share their passion for wine, beer, and spirit.
