6 Tips To Save Your Feet

Walking in high heels is beautiful but could be very painful! Dr Nekessa Remy, a Canadian Chiropractor and an advocate of several specialties which include Women’s Health and Custom Orthotics, has 6 tips to share with you in order to wear your favourite pair of heels or step out in those new stilettos comfortably.

1. Choose a lower heel

Michelle Obama has done wonders for the reincarnation of kitten heel. A heel less than two inches with a wide heel base and thicker heel will spread the load more evenly and offer more support.

2. wear soft insoles to reduce the impact on your knees

“Chiropractic offices and other specialists who focus on the feet provide patients with customized orthotics. Not only are these orthotics custom to your foot but they are specifically designed for heels.”

3. Make sure your heels are the right size

“If it’s too big, the foot will slide forward, putting even more pressure on the toes. Pick a shoe with a wide enough toe box to allow you to wiggle your toes comfortably.”

4. wear heels on days that require limited walking or standing

“Try to save your heels for special occasions, dinner dates and other dressier times, Also, when you do have to wear your heels, make sure you take time to sit down and rest your feet throughout the evening.”

5. Alternate your shoe choice throughout the day or from one day to the next

“Don’t wear your high heels all day, every day; and wear more comfortable shoes, such as athletic or walking shoes for commuting to and from work. Wearing shoes that allow your body to move naturally during walking will minimize the stress on your feet, legs, hips and back.”

6. Stretch

“Take time every day to stretch your calf muscles and feet. Try standing on the edge of a step with your shoes off. With your weight on the balls of your feet and your heels extending off the edge, drop your heels down to stretch. Hold for 20 seconds. Another great exercise is taking a tennis ball and rolling it under the arch of your foot.”

12 Valentine’s Day Beauty Gifts to Buy Yourself

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my beauty queens!!

One thing for sure, life is all about sharing love every single day and sometimes we are so devoted to others that we forget to pamper ourselves! Here is a list of my current favorite products to cleanse, moisturize, repair and enhance your natural beauty…

#1 CLEANSE

Formulated with natural ingredients (without parabens, petroleum and SLS), Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser and Yes To Tomatoes Daily Pore Scrub help to remove impurities. Together, these purifying ingredients clear you up without drying you out. Moreover, tomatoes help unclog pores and provide a daily dose of antioxidant. Designed specifically for combination and acne-prone skin, those cruelty free products are also suitable for vegans/vegetarians.

#2 Moisturize

As featured few months ago, Wild Rose by Korres helps restores skin tone. Use in combination from day to night for better results Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil, Brightening Targeted Tone Corrector, 24-hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream and Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. Wild Rose products are not tested on animals and  are suitable for vegetarians/vegans.

#3 repair

Estée Lauder introduces its first-ever NEW Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask infused with Advanced Night Repair technology to rejuvenate the look and feel of the eye area after the stresses of modern life. In just 10 minutes, eyes look radiant and rested with luminous youth. This eye mask suits for all skin types.

#4 enhance your natural beauty

If you experience lips dryness, the first thing to do is to nurture and protect your lips all day long. Don’t look any further and try Sephora Goji Lip Balm. Be careful…the scent is really addictive! This balm formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates totally respects your lips.

Now that your lips are ready, chose a color that fit your look or your skin tone. This season, I have a crush on cherry color and I like when it’s highly pigmented to guarantee a proper coverage. During the day I go with Sephora Rouge Matte Lipstick (color M11 Rebel Chic) and for my night look I chose Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet (color Black Cherry #57). Both provide long-lasting moisture and intense pigment.

Let’s finished with nails, if you are not able to visit a nail salon, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel is a zero light gel system to use at home. Step 1, apply your color (more than 70 vibrant shades) then Step 2 put Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat. Usually, I get up at least to 5-6 days of color and I remove it easily with my nail polish remover.

I hope that you are ready for your beauty shopping, take care of yourself!
